Elliot is a remarkable alpine climber, mountaineer, and ultra runner. At 16, she has completed expeditions in the Himalaya, Patagonia, Equador, and across the US. She also ran the Broken Arrow Skyrace in Tahoe this summer.

We talk extensively about her two trips to Nepal, her mentor Melissa Arnot, and acceptable risk when in the mountains. There is a particularly powerful stretch where Elliot discusses the tragic death of her friend and climbing icon Ueli Steck.
